Dr Pierre Fragnay worked for three years at the Institut de Pasteur in Lyon. In addition, he had specialized in acupuncture with Dr. Nguyen and in homeopathy.

He also attended the school of Dr Max Tétau in Paris.

The Doctor had discovered the new map of iridology (3000 points) and a new way to read all the organs of the iris.

He was the founder of the CRID (Centre Rhodanien d’Irido-diagnostic) in 1978. He taught there for more than 10 years.
In 1977 President of the French Association of Iridology he had created the first European school of iridology.

He had also participated in scientific research with Dr. Henri Jarricot IRIDOLOGY (Lyon), Boris de Bardot IRIDOLOGY and ACUPUNCTURE (Paris). He had also worked with Dr. René Bourdiol (Paris) NEUROPHYSIOLOGY, and Dr. Paul Nogier (Lyon)-AURICULOTHERAPIE He knew the physiological tests of RAC and VAS for the control of light frequencies on the human body.

After 10 years of practice in France, he moved to Italy to practice general medicine.
He also gave consultations in Iridology , Traditional Chinese Medicine and Quantum Chromo-Light Therapy.

Since 1990, he had carried out research on Chromotherapy with the collaboration of his Venetian friend Dott. Daniele Lo Rito
Dr Pierre Fragnay then discovered the Iris Signal (IS).

It is in fact a reflex of the pupil allowing to radically transform Chromotherapy into a measurable frequency Luminotherapy.

He had organized and participated in many International Congresses with presentation of work and lessons

To my knowledge, the first contact that Pierre had with a sick person took place during a course in a clinic where he was performing the function of a nurse rather than a doctor. “This was my chance”, he confided to me. He wasn’t God, but a hard working “Saint” to whom people confided their ailments and their distress. The quality of his ability to listen was such that it made those who were at the end of their mortal journey, those who were thinking they would be able to escape the mousetrap of death, quickly call for his help. He learnt on this occasion not only to listen but also to be the one who helps them to come to terms with death and the afterlife. This experience removed from him all blind faith in the official medical practice of the day

This is when I first met Pierre. He had chosen as his specialization the most humane in his eyes ie. -non specialization. For him there was no debate to be a specialist was to look at 1 % of the person. Whereas man, he told me, should be seen as a whole person, a complete entity and it is this whole, this uniqueness which makes me opt for holistic therapies such as acupuncture and homeopathy. Iridology was to come later and would help him to establish a reliable diagnosis. At that particular moment nobody or hardly anybody knew about Iridology. Pierre had to explain to me that using the iris of the eye as a tool it allowed you to reveal all the functions of the body. I was incredulous and a little sceptical faced with Pierre’s certainty, energy and enthusiasm. He was proclaiming “It is necessary to look after the well person in order to avoid the dangers of illness”. He bubbled over with vitality and enthusiasm -he was full of plans all directed to a single objective: it was to be there where he was able to best be of service. To be there, where his qualities and his capabilities would be the most effective; there where he could relieve not only man’s body but also his mind.

Since time immemorial, the working of the human organism has been a mystery to man, a mystery on which, gradually, light has been shed. Today in our age of widespread knowledge, in spite of all medical progress that has been achieved even in the field of genetics, so many things still remain unknown about our physiology, our immune system and our reactive powers.

Even with the big discoveries such as the scanner and magnetic nuclear resonance, doctors wouldn’t know how to move from medical semiology – as fine as it is – to the point of making and putting into practice the correct therapy.

Our body gives us many clues yet it is necessary to know how to observe, study and get to know it better. Vi/e have at our disposal a wide range of practices: some are new some are more or less traditional. These enable us to define the illness more accurately, to structure the treatment and to take into consideration the state of suffering of the human being.

Iridology is one of these diagnostic methods. Although it has been described for centuries, certain of its aspects have been confirmed and others have been discovered, bringing a depth to its efficiency as a diagnostic tool.

The book of my dear friend Dr Pierre Fragnay that I have the honour to write a preface for, not only brings a synthesis of research carried out for centuries but also exalts that which would be a mere technique into a luminous shedding of light.

His clear vision of Iridology makes of this exposition an indispensable reference source for the future practitioner.

I would like to congratulate Dr Pierre Fragnay for writing this book and encourage him to follow it with an account of his recent research work which has been well known in the field for several years.

Dr J. Sagrera Ferrandiz

Barcelona (Spain)

My memory of Pierre is that he was trying to heal the patient without causing him unnecessary trauma in the process. Pierre has never much believed in the value of the quarter of an hour consultation or the prescription of a panacea for all ills. He had defined an objective: medicine must certainly care for the illness, return the individual to health and from this fact distance him from the pathological state but medicine must above all put man back in touch with himself.

Here are his proposals (I hope that I do not misrepresent him and that he would support me in my view of what his philosophy is).

“For me to look after a body is good but am I really looking after the man who comes to ask me for help. One doesn’t listen to a body one examines it. Try to examine a soul! To ask a sick person questions about where he has pain is to make some connection with the man but the replies that he will provide – will they be credible? And if the man hasn’t created a spiritual connection with his body how will he be able “to speak” about his body? He will only be the interpreter. It is for this reason that it is necessary to teach man to live in his body and speak to it. There is not a binarity flesh/mind- there is a oneness. Man is one and indivisible. The mind is only the fruit of purely complex biological phenomenon. It is the interpreter of the body, its ambassador. It happens unfortunately that there are desertions and betrayals”.

I have always known Pierre as a man with a questing spirit. I am sure that at this moment he is preparing to present me with something . He is going to find me a way of looking after man, of alleviating his pain and of answering his cry for help.

ANATOMY OF THE IRIS

The iris is a small disk shaped a little bit like a funnel whose top is in front and whose large base at the back is near the crystalline lens. The thickness of this iris formation is about 300 micromillimetres.

By observing the front view of the iris with the naked eye or with a magnifying glass with weak magnification one discovers a circular raised section near to the edge of the pupil. This is the collarette which demarcates two areas (diagram 2).

The internal area – near the edge of the pupil or the pupillary zone.

The external area which is wider and which stretches to the end of the iris disk. This is the ciliary area.

In this setting which is made up of the pupil, the collarette, the pupillary zone and the ciliary zone we will witness grand episodes of iris phenomena both diagnostic and therapeutic which will take place.

PHYSIOLOGICAL & BIOPHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE FUNCTION OF THE IRIS

1) THE IRIS IS RICH WITH BLOOD VESSELS which allows us to glimpse that the molecules, which are exchanged, transformed or produced at the organic level, will be found in abundance at the level of the iris stroma.

We briefly describe in this chapter the necessary elements in order to understand and know the vascular flux of the iris : (diagram 3)

a) The big arterial circle of the iris formed from the joining of the anterior ciliary artery and the long posterior ciliary artery.

b) The small arterial circle of the iris is formed from the joining of the radial vessels heading towards the pupil (communicating exits of the big arterial circle). This small arterial circle is subjacent to the relief of the collarette.

2) THE INNERVATION OF THE IRIS by the presence of its sympathetic and parasympathetic couple partly explains the function of the iris (diagram 4).

a) The parasympathetic system contracting the pupil finds its projection of the iris on the internal edge of the pupil and in the inner most part of the internal area of the pupil.

b) The orthosympathetic system dilating the pupil, finds its iris projection on the collarette in the most inner part of the ciliary area.

3) THE IDEAL IRIS TARGET. The peripheral information coming from a nervous origin in some cases and transmitted molecularly by the blood vessels in other cases finds an ideal targetto receive coded information.

Like a computer the iris stroma translates the message and leaves a place for those “iris markings” dear to iridologists.

a) i he embryological aspect.

The actual relief of the iris is the result of the double embryological origin. The most anterior part of the iris disk is mesodermic in origin whereas the most posterior part is ectodermic in origin.

b) The electrical aspect of the iris.

The iris disk can regard itself as being a group of small electrical dipoles (the positive charges being on the periphery of the disk and the negative charges being central in the pupil). Even the thickness of the iris also creates a double polarity, laying out on the superficial and deep levels electrical charges of opposing signs (diagram 5).

The iris cut into “electrical bipolar segments” joins one to the other and creates a real electrical field which then interferes with the different physiological electrical systems. The same applies to the phenomenon defined as energetic.

READING THE IRIS OR IRIDOSCOPY

Since ancient times one has looked at the iris for anomalies (markings or pigments). One began by examining the iris with the naked eye with only the help of daylight; very quickly magnifying glasses were used then, with technological developments, microscopes lit with artificial lights were used. Before even considering the whole range of technical methods which the iridologist of the year 2000 has at his/her disposal here are a few objective remarks about naked eye examination which I think are not without interest.

1) Iris examination with the naked eye or direct iridoscopy.

It allows by its easiness to be read in the privacy of ones home and this is a reassuring aspect for the patient and makes him/her feel s/he is not under examination. The examiner/patient relationship is made easier, without artificial means and this is an important positive point on the psychological level. The reading will allow a certain number of already very interesting elements to be defined even without going deeper:

Firstly the idea of iris constitutions, then the idea of iris colour (colourmetric reading ) and finally, all the dynamic workings of the pupil with its lenses and even its flat areas of the pupil will be displayed.

This examination practised in daylight or helped by artificial light is simple, able to be practised within the family – it can even be carried out alone in front of a mirror. All the basic data can be extracted from this exercise which will be able to lead to putting into action a therapeutic direction or equally leading to a more comprehensive iridological diagnosis using instruments. In any case this first reading with the naked eye will be the first link in the chain of preventative medicine. It is viable and it is easy!

2) Different reading techniques

a) Magnifying glasses used going from 6 to 10 magnification. With experience they allow observation of detail in the iris and already show precise diagnosis.

b) Microscopes

Slit lamps or opthalmic microscopes in general. There are several types of magnification x10, x20 and x56.

Iridological binoculars, unlike opthalmic microscopes do not have slits which is not a problem for studying the iris (the slit is used to observe ocular structures other than the iris). Binoculars are generally fitted with a system of zoom lenses which allow magnification varying generally from x5.5 up to x50. The most intimate details of the iris can be picked up but one must be careful not to get too involved with their description. The greater part of important diagnosis is done by means of a general view, studying particular elements can be rarified and can lead to confusion.

c) Iridography from which a colour image from a photograph is obtained is used more and more. It is necessary to note however, that if this method has the advantage of being able to compile documents which can then be studied, compared and discussed it is no less true that certain details (delicate but of great importance ) can be overlooked. This examination must be final, following after a scrupulous, thorough research with a microscope.

d) Lets finally quote the “video” methods which allow the high level professional to make dynamic, numerical analysis when they are used in conjunction with computers. The optical numerical disk of the information process at present allows us to keep a record of large quantities of images which can then be fed into a databank.

From the simple examination with the naked eye to the databank, the iris never stops giving information about itself and continues to tease the apprentice iridologist on the lookout for every little iris marking.

3) Different ways of reading

We are going to tackle a very important part of iris reading allowing us to distinguish several levels of diagnostic but also prognostic interpretation.

– Study of the terrains

– Study of the constitutions

– Identifying organic and energetic illness.

The idea of terrains and constitutions are always very overlapping and it is not always easy to divide these two aspects. I adopt in this book an original way of tackling these aspects, a method which is personal to me and which corresponds to my way of looking at the patient and the illness.

a) Iris constitutions

Iridologists have always defined two main constitutions

– One called lymphatic where the iris is clear and where the fibres are well defined.

– The other called haematogenous where the iris is very dark and where the fibres are less visible (velvet iris).

b) Lymphatic constitution or fibrillary (because of the clear appearance of fibres when examined).

When observing these irides with very detached fibres one has the impression of being able to count them one by one. In this type of iris we find a certain number of predispositions:-

– rheumatic and inflammatory illness

– tendency to acidity

– blood fluidity

– demineralisation

– tendency to neuro-vegetative dystonia

In this constitution iridologists pick up also the very particular aspects represented by the hydrogenoid iris. The characteristics are as follows:-

– blurred appearance like a snowflake with torn iris fibres

– often yellowish in colour of the “iris flakes”

c) The haematogenous constitution or pigmentary (because of the

numerous pigments present in the texture of the iris).

These iris have a very dense structure but can, however, have areas where the fibres become visible. From peripheral organic pathologies the iris reacts above all by the formation of pigments. In a general way in this type of iris the iridologist say that acute damage translates itself always by a lightening of the texture when on the contrary chronic damage manifests as a darkening.

The characteristics of this constitution are:-

– tendency to alkalinity

– thickening of the blood (hence the name haematogenous)

– tendency to overload the system, plethora

– obesity (high levels of cholesterol)

– diabetes

– high blood pressure

– digestive problems

STUDY OF THE IRIS TERRAINS

The evaluation of the degree of density of the iris texture gives an appreciation of the basic structure of the subject. The vitality and the resistance of the organism to exogenic and endogenic assaults are linked directly to the structure of the iris: the finer the texture the bigger the vitality. I am in the habit of classifying the iris texture in three categories:-

– the iris texture which is tight and dense – vital resistance is good and energetic defence reactions are swift

– average density of the texture of the iris – average vital resistance with hereditary weakness

– Lacunary or vacuolary iris texture – indicates an exhausted organism. We can find this aspect from a hereditary point of view in the beginning of a pathological process but also in the case of a convalescence.

One must point out Dr Leon Vannier who instituted a more complete

classification with six categories:-

– a very fine smooth iris

– fine iris

– ordinary iris

– coarse or loose iris

– vacuolary iris

– Lacunary iris

The idea of terrains seen from a homeopathic point of view :one of the main characteristics of iridology is to reply to the complexity of homeopathic study and to be able to substitute itself to anamnesis which is often not very objective. The delicate study of the iris stroma allows beyond measure the determination of the homeopathic diathesis and to evaluate the basic remedy, therapeutic key to the individual.

Very simply we are going to tackle homeopathy in this chapter made so simple by reading the iris.

THE THREE HOMEOPATHIC MIASMAS OR TENDENCIES

PSORA

Psora is, from a very general point of view, a state of chronic intoxication resulting from the sum of all the toxic impregnation (acquired or hereditary) translating themselves fundamentally by cutaneous and mucous manifestations. The chief medication for this condition is sulfur.

The psora as reflected in the iris will be different in the fibrillary constitution and in the pigmentary constitution. In the case of a fibrillary iris the fibres are very tight and give a very rigid structure. The iris is also dotted with superficial toxic spots but fewer than before. Its colour is bluish grey. In the case of a pigmentary iris, made up of a few visible fibres and a velvety appearance, one can see very many toxic spots placed superficially in the iris structure. The iris often has a general dingy, fuzzy aspect and its colour is dark brown.

. SYCOSIS

Sycosis is basically an illness of the venerial condylones and urethral leakages. At the present time we are enlarging the picture to include chronic circulatory problems with notable water retention. Sycosis is therefore understood as an illness of the reticulo-endothelial system with less resistance from the individual and water infiltration of the connective tissue. One often finds under the label of sycosis some patients who have taken too much medication (people who have been poisoned medically over the long term). The main medicine for sycosis is thuja.

Sycosis is reflected in the iris in the fibrillary constitution and shows a vacuolary iris with whitish or yellowish pigments deposited on the periphery (a downy appearance). These peripheral aspects are often proceeded by radiating bridges of white substance which look like the spokes of a wheel. In the pigmentary constitution the iris is vacuolary with a few reddy yellow shredded fibres and many reddish points on the periphery. In this case there is never the image of the spokes of a wheel.

LUETISM

We regroup the whole lot of mental disturbances caused either by acquired syphilis or rather be treated, hereditary syphilis. The main medication for luetism is luesinum. In the case of the fibrillary constitution the fibres appear fairly dense with the general iris colour a rather very clear blue. It is the general colourmetric assessment of the iris at different times which directs one towards parasitic exogene or treponeme. As a rule there is no lacuna to be found.

In the case of the hematogenous constitution the fibres are equally fairly dense and are generally rather browny yellow. There is a tendency towards signs which look like radial slits.

There are two homeopathic tendencies more recently set forth by Dr Leon Vannier.

TUBERCULISM

A surface of the iris modified by tuberculism, either acquired or hereditary gets an oversensitivity to Koch’s bacillus. These patients easily

fall prey to tubercular infections (or secondary) as well as illness of the pleura and pulmonary areas. The chief medicine for this istuberculinum.

In fibrillary constitutions with lacuna and vacuoles the fibres are whitish and look like corkscrews (these are at the end of the collarette).

In pigmentary constitutions one finds greenish blackish crypts at the centre of medium density.

CANCERINISM

We are looking at an idea which is quite difficult to define. You include under this heading those patients whose area of the iris predisposes to cancer as much as through heritage as by symptoms displayed. At the iridological level a number of signs exist which call to mind the malignant process. Here are a few characteristic iris signs: –

From the colourmatic point of view we find the following changes –

– In a fibrillary iris there is a dirty browny yellow appearance.

– In a pigmentary iris the colour is reddy yellow or rusty red.

From the point of view of damage to the iris we notice rosette shaped signs with central pigmentation surrounded by an area of peripheral depigmentation. From the pupillary point of view the edge of the iris or the metabolic circle has totally or partially disappeared.

In the sclera, opposite the corresponding sector of the iris sometimes there appears characteristic ducts with a flattening of the pupil or even leakages from the pupil. The conjunction of these signs increases the possibility of a cancerous illness within the system.

The iridologist through his examination establishes an organic and also an energetic evaluation, differentiating those signs whose origins are organic to those linked to the circulation of energy (meridians in acupuncture). We will individualise further a certain number of irregularities in the iris in direct connection with the Chinese energy system.

THE STUDY AND INTERPRETATION OF IRIS MARKINGS.

Deformations of fibres reflect damage in the iris tissue.

1) Acute inflammation is manifested by a lightening of the texture of the iris.

In fact the intimate workings are represented by a blossoming out of radial fibres leaving the iris plane, and this in the iris sector corresponds to the damaged organ. The lightening thus established will translate itself as a rather greenish aspect in the case of blue iris and rather yellowish in brown eyes. As for the pigmentary iris the anomaly is less evident and is seen above all by a raised stroma with a lightening in the centre.

This stage is totally reversible. The signs blur completely when a cure is found. On the other hand if there is a worsening one witnesses a total change of the fibres which lengthen forming an alveoli or lacuna.

2) The alveoles or lacuna.

Firstly the alveoles on the surface permit the underlying fibres of the iris stroma to appear. Then progressively the phenomena changes and the lacuna become hollowed. The process increases in the thickness of the iris disk and finally forms a totally altered image like a “bee’s nest’’.

3) The craters.

These define the stage of evolution of change of these alveoles. They are true wells of energy. It will be important to consider the corresponding level of energy with the aim of seeing the process evolve towards a sub acute stage with the appearance of dark pigments surrounding the hollows (constituting the bee’s nest).

This stage if not treated leads to a chronic state characterised by the total destruction of fibres which change direction, become flattened and lose ail geometric appearance. Then the whole body becomes overcharged with pigmentary marks and becomes dark in a characteristic way.

If the cure is found one witnesses a progressive disappearance of

the pigments but the lacuna persist. The iris reading becomes difficult in the case of the chronic and evolving sub chronic process.

4) The markings and their classification

a) Toxic markings

These are big and very visible and always dark in colour. They appear very superficial and look like sponge marks on a sheet of glass. These marks are often numerous, polyhedric with sharp edges. They represent an endogenic poisoning or a blockage in the eliminatory system. It is a sign of very general order and without local value.

b) Residual markings.

These are smaller than toxic markings, they are rather rounded and well set in the texture of the iris. They mark the end of the illness and have a local value in the area of the iris where they are present. The residual markings stamp a mark on the organic pathology of the represented organ. Iridologists have classified the corresponding pathologies by function of their many colours:-

– green for a discharge of pus

– yellow for an infectious stage

– red for an effusion of blood

– black or dark for a scar process

c) Pigments

Pigments regroup themselves in little piles forming spots whose contours are not very pronounced. The pigments are made up of little particles. They also have a diagnostic value like the residual markings:

– yellow represents fragility of the area under consideration (it is the functional stage of the illness)

– yellowy grey indicates bad renal and vesicular elimination.

– yellowy green seen in the case of streptococcal and staphylococcal infection.

. d) Remarks:-

There is no proportionality between the size of an iris marking and the importance of the illness.

LINEAR DAMAGE IN THE IRIS

Signs of energetic injury:

Linear damage reveals the energetic damage to the organ corresponding to the area of the iris which they cross or they mark well, disturbance in the acupuncture meridian which is described in this area of the iris. They are common in the ciliary and pupillary area.

Let us list the principal aspects:-

1) Radials

a) The “radii solans” or asthenic radial slits.

They are hollow signs showing a lack of energy. When they are localized at 12 o’clock (if one compares the iris with a clock face), they bear witness to a neuro-vegetative pain or even cervical ligamentary problems. On the contrary at 6 o’clock they show problems in the sacro lumbar region or the lower limbs.

b) Images that look like hooks or beaks.

The collarette itself seems deformed and shows a real invagination which constitutes the said images of hooks or beaks. When the collarette invades the ciliary area one sees an orthosympathetic disturbance.

2) Damage to the circulatory system

They have been described for a long time under the heading of the famous cramp circles because it is thought that these irises belonged to patients suffering from cramps or contractures. In fact each time that one is in the presence of more and more rings in the iris area the energetic meridians are disturbed (Chinese pulse taking bears witness to this). The assumption of heart troubles is to be dismissed as the signs for this are totally different.

COLOURMETRIC STUDY OF THE IRIS

Only colour variations of the 2 irides in a given lapse of time interests us. In fact as everybody can see these are iris which are changing and this links directly with the pathological states that we are going to describe. These colours, acquired during the course of an illness, change at the same time that convalescence and above all the cure occur. This observation about iris colourmetrics can be done at home in front of a mirror.

The signs are classified in terms of the 2 basic iris constitutions.

FROM CHROMOTHERAPY TO

IRIS COLOUR THERAPY

By definition chromotherapy is the treatment of illness by coloured lights. This method, moreover, is very old and China has used colours widely to help cure certain illnesses. The scientific basis were made evident by the following experiments: some algae, some bacteria and some protozoa exposed to the effects of varying colours of the solar spectrum have a vital activity which grows then destroys itself in the course of time by an exaggeration in red, balances and maintains itself in yellow-green and slows down and stops in blue, violet and ultraviolet (work of Duclaux, Winogradski, Engelmann).

Some therapeutic experiments worth noting (Dreyer, Finsen):

1) Improvement of certain neurotic states and even psychotic states by using red light.

2) Blue light or bluey violet light has a sedative effect and brings calm to those nervous or agitated individuals as well as quick tempered children.

3) Equally, green and yellow have been used for relaxation and improving sleep.

Let us note the use of heliotherapy or sun ray treatment in the treatment of illness. This method obtains excellent results in tuberculism and helps to heal scars. The application of this method is equally very well known to improve scarring of chronic or recurring sores with children with rickets and spasmophile individuals. Our life depends on the sun and its rays of light.

PHYSICAL STUDY OF LIGHT AND COLOURS

Light reaching us from the sun is that of a hot body of about 6,000 degrees. It is called white light. The physicist Newton whilst using a transparent prism, showed that white light was made up of a series of radiations of different wave lengths.

Going from the longer waves to the shortest to the biggest one finds violet, indigo blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Beyond red we have the invisible infra red rays which have a calorific power used in current

medical practice and notably in re-education. Above violet the invisible ultra violet rays equally manifest by photo chemical effects. The use of ultra violet rays is well known in the biological and medical fields.

The study of the effects of light on the human being allows us to speak of phototherapy. At the moment we use this in treatments using coloured light baths, phototherapy becomes chromotherapy.

Light acts on green plant life as a source of energy but also as a stimulus releasing a certain number of reactions. Cellular biology in the study of photosynthesis has shown that the production of the transformation of energy was directly proportionate to the length of wave of light received. On the cellular level one observes a certain number of stimulations with notably some movement of the chloroplasts looking for or avoiding the light rays in terms of the weakness or greatness of the intensity.

1) Lightwaves

Light transmits itself with a finite speed and the phenomena reproduces itself according to a wave type motion. Maxwell showed that the light vibrations are electromagnetic in nature but one admits now that the light is formed of waves and of complementary corpuscles one from the other; The density of the cloud of corpuscles making up the light wave is equal to the intensity of the associated wave. For Louis de Broglie all the corpuscles of matter are accompanied by a wave.

2) The length of the waves.

It is through the length of the wave in space that one characterizes light waves. If one estimates in microns (1 ,OOOth of a millimetre) the length of the waves here are the obtained results.

We have just described the radiations to which our eye is sensitive, but we can extend the scale of wavelengths as follows:

infrared from 1 mm to 0.80 microns

ultraviolet 0.4 microns to 500 Angstroms (A)

x-rays from 500 A to 1 /100 A

lower gamma rays to 1/100 A

3) The photon or atom or quantum of light energy.

This atom of light energy reproduces itself at a speed of 300,000 kms a second in space. These energetic photons can cause by their impact against the atoms of matter the effect of bombardment of corpuscles.

Physical therapy has shown that the photon transports an amount of energy E, linked to the frequence of radiation by the equation:

E = \h. Where h is called Plancks constant and is equal to 6,62.10(-27) ERG.S. At the moment when an electron passes in an energetic trajectory U1 over another trajectory of lower energy U2, the loss of energy will appear in the form of electromagnetic waves whose frequency will be linked to the energetic variation DE by the equation DE = Xh = U1 – U2.

On the other hand the absorption by the atom of an external energy can make the electron pass from the orbit U2 over the superior orbit U1.

We are at the heart of the principle of wave motion as set forth by Louis de Broglie: waves and corpuscles are two complementary aspects of the same entity.

THE INTIMATE WORKINGS OF ILLNESS

From the symptoms perceived by the patient to the intimate cellular functions, a certain number of stages must be understood. Very briefly the stages follow each other in the following chronological order.

1) Cosmic energetic disturbance.

2) Changes in the atomic level with the passage of electrons onto neighbouring orbits.

3) Different gatherings of molecules being able to form neighbouring but mistaken models.

4) Variations in the heart of the organic tissue changing the histological study and laboratory examinations.

5) Organic anomalies developing at the same time that will be secreted from modified substances that one will be able to evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively.

According to the stage that we are looking at the therapies will be different but the diagnosis will also be different. In the case of a “well” organised organic illness the diagnosis will be carried out at the macroscopic level with the naked eye through direct observation or indirect observation of the damaged organ (direct for the area which has increased in volume through an organic change; indirect in the case where one must resort to paraclinical examination such as radiography, echography, the scanner and magnetic nuclear resonance. In this case the therapy will be rather molecularly medicinal or even surgical.

If one looks at the initial stages described as atomic or energetic alterations the diagnosis will be more difficult and more delicate. We have in this case the whole range of energetic diagnostic methods. Without quoting each and every one of these methods let us not forget acupuncture and auricular medicine (Dr Paul Nogier) which allows the study of energetic changes in terms of pulse variations. The therapies that one will propose, after having established the degree of deficiency or excess of energy, would be varied in this labyrinth of all the natural medicines. Chromotherapy is a simple but very effective method which acts on the energetic level. We are going to try to leave more classical ideas and move towards a theory and a more revolutionary practice but also a clearer one. Let us not forget to stress the very important impact of homeopathy as an energetic remedy. Too often one identifies homeopathy with physiotherapy which is a grave error coming from the confusion in the minds of the patients and also from the therapists.

Homeopathic medicine has more molecules over and above those in

the dilution – ’’Hahneman’s 4th centesimal scale”. Therefore looking at it from this point of view molecular action is inexistent which would lead you to think of the placebo effect if it wasn’t for the energetic effect. The energetic effect must be thought of in the following way ‘‘memory in water” and “the electromagnetic effects of water”. This would explain perhaps an important energetic aspect of homeopathy and its spectacular means of action within the general framework of the individual, equally in the scheme of the nervous system illnesses which are developing today.

THE CLASSICAL CONCEPTS OF CHROMOTHERAPY

1) RED

Often considered as the colour corresponding with the fire element. One attributes it with the therapeutic virtue of stimulation. It will often be used for ENT and pulmonary diseases but also for all pain improved by heat. This colour must be avoided by people who have sanguine or plethoric tendencies, those with high blood pressure, diabetes and people predisposed to cholesterol, fat and obesity.

2) ORANGE

Often considered as the colour corresponding to the sun. One attributes it equally in the case of stimulation. Its active role would be used for respiratory problems. It has an equally beneficial effect for all respiratory allergies.

3) YELLOW

Used in intestinal pathology, it is equally beneficial on the lymphatic system. It can be used for the skin and water retention problems.

4) GREEN

Used for sleep problems and hepatic problems associated with haemorrhoids and arterial hypertension.

5) BLUE

Used in all excess nervous disorders, states of agitation (trembling -like Parkinson’s Disease). This colour acts also on the ganglion level and on the venal and arterial blood system. It can be used to get rid of all infectious acute or sub-acute illness (beginning of infectious cystitis). Generally, blue is the calmant par excellence. It is a true analgesic and ideal anti-inflammatory capable of unblocking lumbago or the beginnings of sciatica.

6) INDIGO

Has the double action of stimulating and calming. The stimulating effect establishes and is responsible for the frightening of the five senses and the calming sedative effect is complimentary to the effect obtained by using blue.

7) VIOLET

Mainly effects the blood and the spleen as well as all bony elements.

DIFFERENT WAYS OF USING COLOUR

1) Direct application of the colour to the ’ill zone’. It is used very often in the case of illness related to the skin and bones.

2) Indirect application to the meridians and acupuncture points. One can equally apply colour to the skin and to the so-called reflex areas (ideal targets deeply linked with the organs) such as the nose, face, ear auricle, palms of the hands and soles of the feet.

3) Colour application on the ocular level used in a quite classical way to obtain a physical or even a psychological reaction.

4) Small simple ways of doing Chromotherapy at home.

a) Coloured clothes

For certain people it would be possible to improve their problems or

even avoid them by looking for the right mixture of colours on the clothing level. One advises, for example, warm tones for winter by applying the law of opposites.

b) Use of sun’s rays

For a long time one has known the value of sun-ray treatment using the length of waves stretching from ultra violet to infra-red. The powers recognised by all are essentially stimulation of the organic functions:

– tonifying effect on the skin

– cutaneous pigmentary reaction

– synthesis of vitamin D

– calming effect

– anti-bacterial effect

c) Use of coloured filters

This method has given rise to the fabrication of lamps or chromotherapy projectors with rotating disks on which different filters are fixed.

d) Colour Visualisation method

This method is used in sophrology in order to reach more quickly the levels of relaxation that are being looked for. By suggestion one is asked to visualise a colour and then to apply it in an imaginary way on the surface of the skin but also at the heart of an organ or an organic function. Applying a warm colour will be made when a positive flow of energy is needed, a cold colour being used for a restraint of energy in illnesses which are resulting from excess conditions.

The application of the method requires the patient to learn how to do relaxing abdominal breathing using the most deep seated movement of the diaphragm muscles. Whilst this flat muscle is put into action controlled by the rise and fall of the umbilicus, the brain functions in a certain way which guarantees a relaxation of the whole body – this is the sophronic state

. THE WORKING ACTION OF COLOURS

One has often reproached coloured rays of light with not having any penetrating effect. This has the effect of denying all forms of therapeutic action. In fact on the purely physical level we have seen that an energy exists of the light atom. This energy reaches a cutaneous area, changes the electronic distribution of the more superficial levels initially, then by reaction cascades down to the deepest levels.

From cascade to cascade we will obtain physiological reactions which will be able to become the characteristics of a determined colour. The weakening organism has always a complementary response to the light received or more precisely to the length of the wave received. For example if the sick organ emits a wavelength corresponding to red the therapeutic wavelength will be green. This ultimate mechanism represents the true axiomatic nature of Chromotherapy. It is absolutely necessary to send out the colour of the diagnostic diseased organ or the organic colour system before determining the colour therapy to be used. Until now many ways have been envisaged, certain of them very old dating back a few 1000 years and others, on the contrary, more recent.

1) The rule of the 5 elements of Ancient China.

The 5 elements determine the variations in temperature all through the year. A name has been given to each season in order to differentiate the alternation from hot to cold.

The spring is the young Yang which breaks away from the Yin making the energy rise in the blood fluids of the human being and animals but also causes the sap to rise in the plant world. At the time of the equinox which is said to be the maximum moment the length of the day will be equal to that of the night.

The summer is the old Yang – a period of maturity when one collects ripe fruit and harvests the grain. The day will be longer than the night and the heat will prevail over the cold. The solstice will mark the longest day of the year.

The autumn is the young Yin marking the decline of yang energy. This phase will protect the vegetable organism from the rigorous ex-

cesses of winter. If one imagines for a moment the absence of this phase, a few warm and humid days would be enough to release a germination and this would have fatal consequences if there was a sudden unavoidable lowering of temperature. During this period the length of the day is equal to that of the night at the time of the equinox or the so called minimum moment.

One often finds a traditional custom of selecting clothes. These customs are directly linked with warmth, with cold, with humidity and with drought. This preventive aspect already represents the first stage of a therapeutic use of colours acting on the intermediary of the skin, the true thermostat of the environment of the human body. Starting from the consideration of the variations in the sensitivity of the skin, colours have played a part, down through the centuries in the search for equilibrium of energy.

3) Inquiry into physiological reactions

It is very difficult to obtain satisfactory results, even though certain researchers have tried to isolate them using irradiated water. The element water becomes an intermediary on receiving the coloured radiation, the study of its new properties giving evidence of the physiological action of colour. But, proceeding from the classifications resulting from these studies, nothing regarding the true therapeutic powers of colours has been very convincing.

CHROMOTHERAPY OF THE IRIS: CLINICAL WORK (1991)

The eye’s iris has always been studied in a spirit of trying to track down the significance of small markings with relation to illnesses or organic dysfunctions. The unusual iris is not always a satisfactory indication for the iridologist who finds himself constrained to use very classic therapeutic methods even within the range of alternative medicine. We have at our disposal:

– On the one hand an avant-garde diagnostic method using the interpretation of the disk of the iris which functions at one and the same time as an energetic planet a micro-computer receiver of information from all parts of the body,

– And on the other hand, the difficult and hesitant therapeutic response.

– The iridologist has always wished implicitly to be able to treat using by means of the iris of the eye, but in vain. It is certain the study of the ear and the auricular medicine of Dr. Paul Nogier allow us to perceive that the iris could also have this double potential both diagnostic and therapeutic.

To find a diagnostic method via the iris of the eye is to prove the latter’s powers of transmission and its key role of entry into the lightbody of the subject.

It is a fact that all therapeutic action of the eye’s iris can only be conceived as through an energy radiation. Light and its different components have power on the organ by the intermediary of a body of light linked permanently with the organic body and the energy body. Let us imagine the human body constituted of three spheres, narrowly overlapping each other following the famous example of nesting dolls:

– The first consisting of the sum of the organs and the liquids in which they bathe. Feelings of well-being or illness correspond to the equilibrium or disequilibrium of this body, described through the ages by anatomist-physiologists, pathologists etc.

– Thanks to acupuncture, the second sphere has been made evi-

dent, the body energetic. It is activated by meridians of energy circulating amid the physiological intervals. These meridians must not be described as lines,” paths of energy” following the nerves and vessels of the body, but like circles of energy belonging to the sphere of the body energetic. The bridges between the body energetic and the physical body are made by the intermediary of the acupuncture points in a similar manner to the reflex zones already known, such as the auricle, the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet etc.

– The third sphere, or body of light, is a sphere sensitive to the radiations which make up light. This sphere is intimately linked to the cosmos and the underlying energy sphere.

In other words, if one admits to the existence of an energetic flow bathing the human body with energy, one must now admit to the existence of a flow of light spreading itself throughout our bodies by means of bridges via the reflex zones (outer ear, iris of the eye, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, nose). All these zones of the human body are provided with energy receptors and light receptors. I believe it is necessary to differentiate in theory between these receptors in order to avoid confusion between circulation of energy and circulation of light. To enter into knowledge of the body of light, is to enter into the labyrinth of the subject’s intimate being. The individual coming to be.

It is certain that this notion of a body of light modifies the notion of illness which is no longer understood as a group of physiological organic disorders, and now it is no longer even possible to relegate to second place disequilibria of energy which give rise to functional illnesses.

The equilibrium necessary to life is disturbed when the power to tap into light deteriorates. The partial or total deterioration of the power to tap into light is the start of “organic illness”, the final stage of the morbid process.

The energetic stage is to be considered as an intermediary stage, capable of stalling for a certain time the process of “disintegration of light”. The phases of excess or insufficiency of energy are precursors of states of organic suspension. Organic illness is the result of light suspension in the living being.

I now propose to offer you the clinical work which has allowed me to reveal the body of light dear to my late friend Boris de Bardo. We were already both convinced of the therapeutic possibilities of working on the iris of the eye (by light irradiations). Boris, thanks to his hypersensitivity, which allows him to feel the “light energy vector”, myself, thanks to the lectures I attended in auricular-therapy about twenty years ago with Dr. Paul Nogier (Lyons).

1) THE EFFECTS OF THE APPLICATION OF LIGHT ON THE IRIS OF THE EYE

It is necessary to use a fine luminous fascicula capable of being applied away from the cornea but nevertheless sufficiently near to act on the chosen zone of the iris. In order to avoid all risk caused by heat, we use an fibre optic to obtain a cold light. The fibre optic transmits luminous intensity very reliably, including its variations of colour, and the source of heat is situated at a distance.

To work more easily, the end of the optic fibre finishes in a sort of light pencil that can be held very easily in the hand. By activating a small button on the light pencil one can also modify the colour of the fascicula emitted.

The generator of light adopted essentially uses a completely standard luminous source, a sufficiently powerful electric bulb with a multicoloured disk turning in front of it: the colours move round in proportion to the rate of the disk’s rotation, and can be very easily interchanged during the application to the patient.

We have also furnished the generator with the specific equipment to modify the intensities of light applied and also the duration of their application.

We state that the device obtained allows the application of rays of colours at a distance from the eye. It is harmless because it does not touch the cornea, and the colours used are only those that surround us everyday. Such an experiment can only be positive for the patient, and if the worst comes to the worst, unsuccessful, that is to say without therapeutic results.

With reference to phenomena involving pain…

The first experiment was proposed to a patient presenting an acute cervical pain with inflammation in a context of cervico-brachial neuralgia. It is a case of inflammation of the intervertebral disk, producing feelings of pain in the neck, the back of the neck and even the arm. The day of the first session, the patient arrived with a severe pain at the site of the seventh cervical vertebra and a certain amount of pain in the right shoulder.

How was I to choose the therapeutic colour? I arbitrarily chose a cold colour, associating the law of temperatures with painful and inflammatory phenomena, thinking that it was suitable to lower the inflammatory temperature of the zone of the iris which corresponded to the cervical sector. I decided to use blue in the first instance, and to apply green immediately afterwards if I did not get any result.

I switched on the light generator, verified that my optical pencil was working, sought the colour blue and approached the right eye. I stopped at around 4 mm from the cornea, in order to remain away from the eye, and applied the coloured fascicuia opposite the zone of the iris corresponding to the cervical column, that is to say, between eleven o’clock and twelve o’clock, (taking as reference a clock dial). I applied the blue light for about thirty seconds at medium intensity, then stopped and questioned the patient. He slowly turned his head and noted a lessening of pain at the moment of rotation.

I decided to ask him to perform several rotatory motions with the aim of opening up the passage (column-shoulder)-eye. Again I applied the blue light but with a weaker intensity for a minute. I stopped, and to my great surprise, I saw the patient happily turn his neck to left and right: the system worked. The first session of Iridotherapy was born.

In view of this spectacular result, I decided not to use the intended green ray in order not to upset the results. I asked the patient to return home without taking any medication, even if the pain reappeared, in order not to falsify the results. We parted promising to maintain contact by telephone. I waited three days in vain, and intended to telephone him that evening.

It was to my surprise about three pm to see him arrive with his wife: he asked me to attend to her because she had a painful knee and had been limping for three weeks. I was nonplussed. While I was watching his wife I noticed that he had no more difficulty in the neck area, and that he gesticulated and spoke in a lively manner, pointing with his fingers to the left knee of his unfortunate wife.

Fortified with this first experiment, I switched on my generator, and brought the blue light close to the left eye, opposite the sector of the iris corresponding to the left leg at the six o’clock position. I alternated the luminous fascicula between the pupil and the middle of the iris, to sweep over the sector of the thigh and the knee properly, using a medium light intensity.

After thirty seconds I put down my light pencil and questioned the lady. She shook her head, apparently disappointed, for the pain was still present and strong. Nothing had changed.

I applied the blue light again, increasing the intensity, and swept over the zone for 2-3 minutes.

Hardly had I finished, when the lady noticed a lessening of the stiffness in the joint, and was able to bend her knee more easily, still however, feeling quite intense pain. I applied the green on the same zone of the iris with strong intensity of light for around one minute: the result was spectacular. The knee was able to bend, the pain disappeared totally, and the lady hopped around on her bad leg.

It was enough to change the colour to get a positive response. The origin of the pain was different from that of her husband because it was an instance of inflammation of the tendon, but this does not sufficiently explain the difference in treatment.

It is already clear that when faced with a problem of pain, it is not simply a matter of applying a “prescription” colour, but it is necessary to seek the corresponding colour which is sensitive to the pathology. In these two first cases the results were totally positive and without relapse. I decided therefore to pursue my investigations further, not thinking that I was at the start of my discoveries.

An allergic patient, who had been asthmatic for a very long time came to consult me. I proposed an experiment with my range of colours. In view of the deficiencies I noted both in the standard clinical field, and in the field of energy, I decided to use a warm colour, and chose orange.

I applied the light intensely for more than a minute and sent the patient home, asking him to telephone me the following day, in order to know if his night had been calmer than the previous one.

What a surprise! An hour later I heard by telephone that he was in full tachycardiac crisis with a constant pulse of 120 which would not give way. I asked him to come back immediately and applied to both eyes the “calming” blue light, just as I had applied the orange light, bilaterally, and in the zone corresponding to the lungs at quite high intensity. Less than a minute later the crisis stopped short, and the sick man regained his calm and his smile.

This time I had entangled myself in my sorcerer’s apprentice experiment, discovering unforeseen and embarrassing phenomena. It was essential at all costs to identify the therapeutic colour without applying at random a risky colour with only reference to tradition or to a too theoretical symbolism.

By thinking back to my old memories of student days and as a young practitioner I would find the leading thread. Between 1974 and 1976 at the time when I was preparing my thesis for acupuncture, I followed the lectures of Dr. Paul Nogier, the Father of Auriculo-medicine. I remembered those Sunday mornings, where, gathered in a conference room at the P. L. M Hotel in Lyons, doctors from all over the world came to attend very private consultations! The patient was brought into the conference room, lay down timidly on the examination couch set up for the purpose, and Dr. Paul Nogier, with a kind of small palpating pencil “wandered” about the auricles of both ears, meanwhile taking the patient’s pulse. “Ah! The thymus, the pituitary, the kidney”, he would call out. A small auriculopuncture needle was immediately planted in the outer ear, and we awaited the results.

I must say that at each session we all witnessed extraordinary phenomena, such as lumbar-sciatica released in a minute, or attacks of palpitations inhibited, even fits of hysterics stabilised by the choice of

the correct zone of the ear. and inserting the needle at the right spot.

I also remembered that during the later sessions Paul Nogier introduced the idea of filters of colours applied to the outer ear to replace or complement the effect of the needle. What really excited me was the way this method of auriculo-medicine allowed diagnoses and control of the therapy by palpating the different points of the outer ear with a palpator while at the same time, taking the radial pulse at the wrist. If on palpating a certain point on the ear, one noted a sudden weakening of the pulse, the needle must be applied to the zone, because this zone corresponds to a disturbed reflex zone. After waiting a few moments, you use the palpator to check and verify by trying to suppress or maintain the anomaly. Paul Nogier had discovered what he calls R.A.C. or Auriculo-Cardiac Reflex, a remarkable means of diagnosing an illness via the ear and the pulse of the patient.

The existence itself of R.A.C. expresses the intimate liaison between the physical body and the energy body, in fact the palpation of the different points on the ear called acupressure of the ear, creates variations of energy levels which can be measured, (as has been shown on several different occasions in acupuncture), and is an interpretation of the energy flow of the human body. The variations in the peripheral radial pulse which one finds at the patient’s wrist, reflect the variations effected in the neuro-vegetative plane, and are witness to the physiological activity of the physical body.

Convinced that my solution could be found by seeking these same neuro-vegetative phenomena via the application of coloured light fasciculae to the iris of the eye, I decided to test the theory on a patient complaining of repeated episodes of cystitis. I chose an organic malady such as bacterial cystitis to avoid all criticism aiming to say that in the area of illnesses qualified as psychosomatic, the placebo effect allows one to verify the real miracles.

The lady had an organic cystitis and the analyses showed a very high quantity of coli bacillus. I awaited the arrival of this patient and with common accord, I decided to try the experiment. The day of her arrival the patient was suffering powerful spasms of the bladder with feeling of needing to urinate every ten minutes. Furthermore the urinary burning had considerably weakened her general condition. I decided to begin with the right iris and to continue with the left iris without any particular reason.

While taking the radial pulse at the right wrist, using my left hand I brought my light pencil held in my right hand close to the right eye at a distance of about 4mm. I decided to wander about opposite the right iris, and covered the whole of the field of the iris with each of the colours, trying to capture with the aid of my left hand, an eventual variation in the pulse. The results were the following:

– Positive variation in the colour blue in the 7 o’clock zone in the right iris (the zone attributed to the kidney and bladder)

– Positive variation in the pulse in the green colour in the 5 o’clock zone in the right iris (the zone of the sexual sphere)

– Positive variation in the pulse in the orange colour in the 6 o’clock zone (the zone attributed to the lower member and the projection of the kidney-bladder meridians)

For each of these three colours the variation of the radial pulse was characteristic with a powerful fall noted at the moment when the colour passed over the “sensitive” zone of the iris followed by an immediate recovery.

I checked the phenomenon three times in succession for each of the colours tested, in order to be sure: the observation of this physico-lumi-nous differential has become a law. I decided to call it the Iris-Signal or witness to the reaction of the light body. Now a second stage remained to be demonstrated: the therapeutic action of light phenomena in response to this diagnosis.

For not more than one minute I applied the blue at the 7 o’clock position, the green at the 5 o’clock position, and the orange at 6 o’clock, at medium intensity and waited. Three minutes later the patient went to urinate, but the acute pain felt on urinating had disappeared. A slight painful discomfort remained. Four to five minutes passed by…. a fresh need to urinate. This time the micturition was without pain or spasm. I again verified the Iris Signal (I.S.). It was negative for all colours. The body of light had just come back into action!

One phenomenon worried me however, the lady needed to urinate every ten minutes, without pain or spasm. I immediately decided to ad-

dress myself to the left iris. With the light pencil in my left hand, and seeking variations in the radial pulse, I checked all the zones of the iris and all the colours for a positive IS. One single positive response for the blue in the six o’clock zone reserved for the lower member and on the projection of the kidney-bladder meridians I applied the blue for about a minute at medium intensity and waited…. Half an hour went by, the lady no longer needed to urinate. She had no pain, no spasm. Is the game won?

I decided the check the Iris Signal right and left: It was negative. Two hours passed by. The lady still had no need to urinate and no pain. The IS remained negative. I decided to stop the treatment, determined that at the slightest alert I would have to restart the diagnostic and therapeutic work.

In fact nothing happened. The action of the body of light on the body of energy and the physical body had re-established urinary function. And so you can say without scruple that the subject was cured “miraculously” from her chronic organic cystitis. The light body had recorded the light message and created a regulatory action at the urinary site.

Other experiments followed to complete the picture with different ailments such as headache, inflammation of the cervix, attacks of colitis, attacks of allergic asthma, trembling, hepatic colic. .. the diagnostic and therapeutic work on each of these cases has been subject to one or several positive IS to left or to right.

2) LAWS OF VARIATIONS IN THE BODY OF LIGHT

a) No Lateralisation

The right iris can respond by positive IS in an illness corresponding to the right half of the body, but the left iris can respond similarly in the same case. Sometimes the right iris can respond with IS, and the left iris can respond with IS at a different time, this effect being tied to the periodic opening and closing of the emissive and receptive capacities of the iris. Between the two limits of these moments, the left and right irises respond differently and one must treat all responses systematically. This alternating play has no interference with the notions of left handedness

or right handedness, this having been proved by lateralisation tests.

b) The search for the IS is made at both irises and in all colours

c) The treatment must be the application of the coloured light corresponding to thepositive IS

d) The duration of the application of the coloured light, variable from one individual to the next, and from one pathology to another, averages a minute. Just at the moment when the IS becomes negative, the application is repeated by means of successive touches of around a minute.

e) The Intensity of the Light

For all acute disturbances a higher intensity is used and one or two applications on their own, separate by forty-eight hours. For all chronic developing phenomena, we are apt to use weak intensities repeated at a rate of three times a week. Rarely are more than about ten sessions needed.

3) THE PUPIL: evidence of the Luminous vector

The quest for the Iris Signal by taking the radial pulse is simple, but sometimes can seem a little subjective.

Persuaded of the strict tie existing between the pupil and the iris, I have studied the variations in the diameters of pupils during the application of coloured lights.

a) The homolateral test

Having found a positive IS in the breast sector at 9 o’clock, I sought a modification of the diameter of the pupil. In the first instance, I brought the end of my light pencil opposite the zone of the iris corresponding to the breast and with a second optic fibre I brought a luminous fascicula about 15cm away from the right pupil.

Study of the Results: The IS is positive to the colour blue applied with medium intensity. The white light brought opposite the pupil makes it

contract and relax slightly, before giving a few oscillations. This is a purely physiological reflex. By varying the colours of the pupillary projector the same phenomena reappear, rendering the homolateral test strictly negative.

b) The contralateral test

Using the same subject, showing a positive IS in the right iris (breast zone) with my second fibre optic, this time I illuminate the left pupil. The IS is still positive with the blue light in the right iris and I try the application of all the colours simultaneously to the contralateral pupil

Study of the results: In the area of the left eye using the blue light a specific pupillary sign is evident.

– pupillary contraction

– relaxes

– two small contractions

– relaxes

this continues up to the moment when the IS becomes negative, using the check of the right radial pulse.

Consequently there exists a pupillary indication of the IS in the same colour, but in a contralateral manner. This pupillary sign is totally different from the pupillary hippus which I will describe in the paragraph concerning irido-medicine. This experiment made within the frame of a chronic benign mastopathology is confirmed in other pathological states, such as sacral-lumbar inflammation, asthma, cystitis etc.

c) Interpretation of the contralateral pupillary reaction

The alternation of small pupillary contractions and relaxations indicates the presence of a luminous vector at the level of the pupil. Everything takes place as if the luminous energy sent to the zone of the iris from the exterior towards the interior, finds an inverse response from the interior to the exterior via the contralateral site of the pupil.

An equilibrium of the luminous forces is thus obtained at the moment the Iris Signal becomes negative. This sign from the pupil is very inter-

esting because its intensity is proportional to the intensity of the luminous vector. The reaction of the Light Body is measurable, and allows one to speak of the speed of response of one individual compared to another, and indeed of the pathology of the light body.

4) THE PHYSIOLOGY OF THE 3 BODIES

Having shaken the classical concepts of medicine in speaking of the privileged connections between organic functions and the energetic spheres, we must now upset the beautiful edifice of physiology with the idea of a third body: the body of light or Vibratory Luminous Body VLB (CVI). This entity, measured by the Iris Signal controlled with the aid of the radial pulse and the controlateral radial pulse will revolutionize the theory of the intimate mechanics of illness.

Cosmic perturbations and more exactly the disharmonious connections between the being and the cosmos will trigger a state of disequilibrium between the energetic and the physical bodies. These states of disequilibrium or equilibrium will be buffered by an entirety which I define as constituted of waves and corpuscles. One glimpses the possibility of a liaison between the universe and the being: all vibratory disequilibrium between these two systems becoming a cause of illness. Perhaps we should not, as we still unfortunately do nowadays, only interest ourselves in illnesses and their dissections in order to understand their intimate mechanisms. It is time to treat the illness and the patient, each illness together with its patient.

If it is true that the twentieth century relieves pain, very often this pain is displaced, giving rise to other symptomologies, symptoms of disequilibrium of the being not yet resolved.

The illness must be treated, but not in the sense of inhibiting it. In fact the development of the said illness is only the signal of a deep discord between the being and the cosmic laws: let us respect the signal, let us attenuate it for the time needed to explore the intimate reaction, which is true pathology in its course of evolution. That is what I propose by the method of Iris Chromotherapy, exploring and regulating the Vibratory Luminous Body. This study needs corroborating practitioners excluding those auto bilans suggested by therapists with wild

views and those approximate cures which are suggested for economic reasons

SEARCH FOR VIBRATORY PURITY: THE PRISM

For a positive action of luminous fasciculae on the iris, pure vibrations need to be used, in order to avoid the appearance of undesirable side effects. The use of the initial prototype with its coloured filters was very quickly found to be limited, due to therapeutic failures and the appearance of parasitic phenomena.

I would cite as a parasitic effect the appearance of powerful contractures after a session focused on a crisis of acute sciatica.

The search for vibratory purity finds its solution in the statement of Descartes’ Laws and the use of a glass prism to obtain coloured rays of light. The different attempts were all positive, equally in the speed in which results were obtained and in the absence of unwanted reactions.

Many months of research have allowed me to define the apparatus for the application of iris chromotherapy and, in a more general way, I would say to effect chromo-reflexology. If we limit ourselves to the eye and its iris, we abandon a great part of the therapeutic range offered by the human body. All the reflex zones, likewise the acupuncture points are sensitive to the fascicula emitted by the prism, bringing to this, meanwhile the complementary notion of invigoration (tonification) and dispersion of luminous vibration.

The necessary rules to obtain durable therapeutic effects from the application of the luminous spectrum on the different reflex parts of the body are:

1) The necessity of using the 7 fundamental colours of the spectrum making up white light.

2) The coloured lights must be emitted by using a glass prism in order to obtain pure vibrations.

3) The light vibration must be a pulse, whether in the direction

. of tonification or in the direction of dispersion. This variation is obtained by rotating a disk with holes at variable speed, placed in the path of the fasciculae.

4) The application of the various colours must be done while minutely studying the Iris Signal and the Controlateral Pupillary Sign, both of which are present at the time of the investigation of the zones of the iris and the different reflex zone

The tonification or the dispersal of the acupuncture points will be decided using Chinese Pulsology.

PRENATAL OR POSTMORTEM – TOWARDS A THERAPEUTIC METHOD?

The existence of the Luminous Vibratory Body memorizing physical and energetic events allows one to express the hypothesis of a continuation of its existence beyond the duration of the life of the physical body. In fact all these memories, registered in a vibratory way could very well never be destroyed!

One could imagine that the whole of what has been lived remains in the memory of the cosmos, filled with its joys and pains. Only the physical support lies down and dies. Many scientists have already reported such an eventuality, publishing provisionary “unlockings” of the body for a few minutes during cardiac arrests. All patients “returned from the journey” relate to their surgeon the same phenomena with the following sequence of events:

– An impression of existing above their own body.

– Meanwhile visualizing the inside of the operation theatre.

– Being present at the intervention taking place and the reanimation in the process of being applied to restore the cardiac arrest.

– The sight of his own human body is never frightening.

– All the descriptions relate the visualization of light phenomena and soothing sounds.

– Convinced that return to life is imminent, the lights and sounds have barely disappeared when pains and spasms awake, signifying the “relocking”.

All accounts of this “life after life” are always very serene full of joy and hope and patients behave differently towards their families and friends.

It would seem that the “journey” will have modified certain components of the individual, exalting his listening and comprehension.

The journey evokes the possibility of a transfer from the physical world towards the world of vibrations while still maintaining the feeling of belonging to the same living being. Life can unfold at the same time within the cellular whole and in the vibratory whole. The rupture of the

• “umbilical cord” which permits movement between the two systems represents what we call death of the physical body.

These phenomena give rise to the thought that the vibratory body, liberated from the physical body rejoins the cosmos impregnated with the memory of all the organic deficiencies and all the organic pains. It becomes important to think about the health of the vibratory body during physical life, and the application of coloured fasciculae allowing physico-energetic-vibratory equilibrium could be considered as a therapy for “the great departure”.

Let us gently sail on in the boat of our dreams and imagine that a cosmic vibratory body can attach itself to an embryo. If such a phenomenon could come to pass, we would have described a reincarnation. In admitting such a phenomenon to have taken place, the future new-born baby will adopt the existing vibratory deficiencies and develop a certain number of energetic anomalies and maybe also organic anomalies.

Could one conceive of a dagger blow having struck a renal zone several centuries ago, today allowing the birth to take place of a being sensitive in the kidney area, with inexplicable pains which would be qualified as either functional or psychological.

Could one avoid the sufferings of generations to come by restoring equilibrium to the vibrations of people in their death throes?

Is it not true ecology the search for improvement of the quality of life by prevention an treatment of surrounding deterioration? The vibratory state of the Luminous Body is separate and whole in the surroundings of life, and on this score must be taken into consideration in scientific research.

The reader must excuse all these questions raised, but it seemed to me necessary to speak clearly and simply about death and the transformation of the being, starting from the phenomena described by high level scientists.

BASIS OF THE READING OF THE IRIS: SOMATOPIES

Circular Reading of the iris: (Diagram no 6)

The iriscopic examination is a very important moment, quickly allowing a general perception of the individual’s state of health. I advise that the examination is begun at the pupillary edge of the iris, and advances towards the periphery of the iris.

We discover respectively seven zones in rings,

a) The metabolic circle or first zone

It is an internal, brownish red, pupillary circle, edging the pupil and representing in the histological plane, the posterior epithelium of the iris. It is the seat of the parasympathetic innervation and represents at the same time, a sign of vitality and energy reserves. The Italian school glimpses a whole organic projection and speaks of the variations in the pupillary rim.

When this metabolic circle is whole, one speaks of good vital energy, or on the other hand in the case of its absence or incomplete presence one is put in mind of lowering of energy. We will find a fall in energy levels in cases of the start of an illness, or on the other hand, in convalescence after a chronic organic attack.

Let us remember that it can be partially present in children or old people. The first moment of this examination is fundamental, permitting the energy diagnosis of the individual at a glance.

b) The second zone: Digestion at the stomach

This zone stretches from the internal edge of the pupil as far as halfway into the pupillary zone: we find here the projection of the makeup of the stomach.

c) Third zone – Digestion at the intestine

This represents the second half of the pupillary zone and finishes at the collarette. Here we find the projection of the make-up of the large and small intestines.

d) The fourth zone: the collarette

This is the seat of the ortho-sympathetic system and the great metabolic functions.

e) Fifth zone:

Zone of deep circulation and deep ganglion points this belongs to the ciliary zone and goes along the collarette. It is a very narrow zone.

f) Sixth zone:

The projection of the organic functions except those of the stomach and intestines, this zone is very wide and is the object of all topographical descriptions with divergences belonging to different schools.

g) The seventh peripheral zone

This is often the most visible. It is the projection of the peripheral circulation, the lymphatic circulation and the skin.

Somatopies of the Iris

In this very important paragraph we will make a detailed study of the two irises, in order to discern the slightest anomalies. The results set out here are the fruit of personal work over more that fifteen years on fifty thousand pairs of eyes, starting from the Iris of Vega (School of Gaston VERDIER) The modifications I have added are always linked to chemical, radiological, and biological studies which I have conducted throughout these years.

It seems to me important to refer to zones or organo-energetic activity, rather than to projections of organs, in order to embody both the organic and the energetic aspects of the patient. A good knowledge of these zones will allow one to understand the phenomena of the iris and will point directly to the correct therapeutic choice.

We will differentiate between the right iris and the left, specifying that

examination of the right iris allows one to study the right half of the body, while examination of the left iris informs us on the state of the left half of the body. There are naturally, exceptions which we will study, notably crossing over phenomena.

To facilitate the reading of the charts of the iris, iridologists have long been using the idea of the clock face. Thus we speak of a mark at 8 o’clock or a crater in the iris at 9 o’clock. As the reading of the iris must be precise, it is even advisable to divide it into subsections, thus referring to quarter past ten or quarter to nine etc. For all descriptions we will turn in an anti-clockwise direction (inverse direction to the hands of a watch)

The zones of organo-energetic action of the right iris correspond to the right half of the body.

Having uncovered the circle of energy, the true/.ell we will expose is the stomacho-pyloric zone occupying half the pupillary zone and terminating at the pyloric zone. We will describe five zones in rings around the pupil.

– From 11 o’clock to 7 o’clock is situated the small curve of the stomach – From 7 o’clock to half past 5, and from half past 5 to quarter past 4 is located the great curvature of the stomach

The Collarette (Diagram 8)

This crenellated relief is very important in irido-diagnosis. If one studies its variations between 12 and 6 o’clock, they represent the pathological modifications of the rachidian roots of the vertebral axis. No bony vertebral phenomenon will be represented there, but we will be able to identify radicular ailments. When a pathological state arises at the site of an intervertebral disk, an inflammatory state is which compresses the rachidian roots bringing with it pain in the latter.

The clinical signs observed are pains along the path of the nerves with motor deficiencies which may show themselves in episodes of lameness; there are always some changes in the osteo-tendonous reflexes.

Such are the symptoms observed in cervico-brachial neuralgia at the neck or lumbar-sciatica at the lumbar-sacral site. The contribution of the iris is of cardinal importance, on the one hand, to establish the correct diagnostic site of the lesion, but also to find the therapy most adapted to it. The anomalies found at the site of the collarette consist of peaks, the points of which point either towards the pupillary zone, or, more frequently, towards the ciliary zone. These signs appear early and in particular, disappear practically immediately following correct therapy.

I have very often noted these phenomena while working with osteopaths, or while working in auricular therapy. When the peaks point towards the pupillary zone, there are always digestive phenomena noted firstly among the symptoms. Very often the practitioner interviews a patient with digestive signs which are only apparent. The diagnostic study and therapy of the engergetician or osteopath, by unblocking some vertebral state, brings relief.

Thus the collarette has a double power:

– diagnostic, by showing up the rachidian level to be treated.

– indicator of therapy to be used

We will describe four zones along the collarette.

– From twelve o’clock to half past ten range the rachidian ends of the first to the eighth cervical

– From half past ten to eight o’clock range the rachidian ends of the first to the twelfth dorsal

– From eight o’clock to half past six range all the rachidian ends of the twelfth dorsal to the fifth lumbar

– From half past six to six o’clock we traverse the whole of the sacral roots

The ciliary zone

If one considers the zone ringing and intimately tied to the collarette, and occupying around a fifth of the ciliary zone, we have the zone of the projection of the deep circulation. If there is no circulatory pathological state, we will find no sign. On the other hand, in the case of an arteriovenous pathology, we can find two sorts of signs:

– venous signs, manifesting themselves by a homogeneous coloration. Generally the colour will be rather orange I yellow even rusty for a fibrillary iris, more or less dark brown for a pigmented iris.

– arterial signs, manifesting themselves by the intricate mixture of two colorations and a heterogeneous aspect. It gives the impression of a base colour sprinkled with tiny particles.

We are going to find the whole of the following elements:

– the half-cupola of the diaphragm

-the abdominal peritoneum

-the sternum

-the tonsil

-the thyroid gland, right against the collarette in the zone of deep circulation which we have just described. This endocrine gland and therefore a gland of internal secretion, pours its hormonal elements directly into the blood. The fruits of my research have permitted me to locate this zone exactly at nine o’clock.

We will see that the endocrine zones in the cartography are all situated in this circulatory zone. In the practice of reading the iris we will find in this nine o’clock zone:

On the other hand, everything muscular and superficial planes project themselves in a cross-over fashion, meaning that each anomaly of the iris will correspond to a lesion in the left half of the body.

When we consider the urinary system and the genital system, the whole of the energy anomalies are projected directly. This means that the “small marks” on the right iris corresponding to these sectors, can be ascribed to an energetic dysfunction in the right half of the body, but also to an organic dysfunction in the left half of the body The energetic aspects will be represented at the same sites where the acupuncture meridians unfold with foci of potential energy all around the collarette, identified with the projection of the chakras

THE PUPIL

The pupil is formed by a circle which constitutes the internal edge of the iris and therefore belongs to iridoscopic examination. We can define three sorts of characteristic occurrences:

– Pupillary flight

– Pupillary deformities

– Pupillary flattening.

1) PUPILLARY FLIGHT

Off-centre pupils can occur, the pupil stretches out, displaced according the diameters of the iris disc. The pupil is always displaced in a direction diametrically opposed to the deficient sector of the iris. This, being a very early sign, has a high diagnostic value at a time when the examination or reading of the surface of the iris does not yet reveal any disturbance. The displacement is caused by physical forces arising from the deficient sector, and tends to increase the space occupied in the iris. We find this type of anomaly when the fibres of the iris affected first are deep, thus leaving intact the superficial fibres, which will only be affected much later. We see straight away the importance of being able to diagnose this type of anomaly, allowing early detection of a morbid lesion evolving: this is a good example of early displacement which can be detected by the naked eye itself without the aid of a magnifying glass. Here are several examples (all studied using for comparison the analogy of a clock face)

a) in a right iris, a pupil veering in the direction of seven o’clock betrays a grave affection in the ENT and opthalmic sector.

b) in a right iris pupil veering in the direction of nine o’clock witnesses a grave laryngeal or even thyroid factor.

c) In a left iris a pupil veering in the 5 o’clock direction betrays a grave affection of the ENT and ophthalmic sector.

d) Whether one is considering the left or the right iris, a pupil which veers towards six o’clock shows a grave cerebral affection, and is a

probable sign of a tumorous processes.

e) A urinary affection, with an infective evolving process, that is to say a developing tumour will be characterised by:

– In the right iris, the pupil veering towards 2 o’clock

– In the left iris, the pupil veering towards 11 o’clock

We can confirm that a purely psychological processus can in no case cause veering of the iris, hence its particular importance in seeking the cause of the trouble. The sign has the greatest importance when it is found on the right side only, or on the left side only. In fact symmetrical bilateral pupillary flights exist, which have no pathological significance: we call them physiological.

Let us retain the importance of the early diagnostic value of a unilateral pupillary flight which is very easily detected with the naked eye

2) PUPILLARY DEFORMITIES

They are also very easily located by the naked eye and are always linked to cerebral vascular disturbances. Their description will permit the following classification:

a) Deformity along the great vertical axis

This is always bilateral betraying a predisposition to cerebral vascular irregularities, but also to the arterial system of the two lower members.

b) Deformity along the great horizontal axis

Equally bilateral, this more or less signifies a tendency to depression but within the vascular framework such as arteriosclerosis

c) Deformity along the great oblique axis but parallel (between the right iris and the left): This is always a sign of a hemiplegia about to happen

d) Deformity along the great oblique axis:

Divergence upwards always betrays an aggravation of the signs of cerebral haemorrhage.

3) PUPILLARY FLATTENING

On examining the iris, we find a clearly marked flattening over a deficient sector of the iris. This is, without doubt, the witness of an important ailment. From the location point of view we propose the following classification which will allow one not only to make a diagnosis quickly with the naked eye, but also a prognosis, because the degree of flattening is directly proportional to the severity of the lesions.

a) Flattening at noon (on the right side or on the left side)

This is a tendency to a depressive state, but also to the association of a depressive state with cerebral vascular elements if the flattening is very marked.

Always found with problems of the external or middle ear.

c) Flattening at one o’clock in the left iris:

Sign of problems in the external ear which always appear bilaterally, as in the case of buzzing in the ear of vascular origin.

d) Very marked flattening at 11 o’clock in the right iris and at one o’clock in the left iris shows pathognomique of Meniere’s Syndrome, translating the ailing labyrinths, and manifesting itself by excessive dizziness and vomiting.

e) Flattening at the right iris at nine o’clock:

Sign of breathlessness whether of pulmonary or cardiac origin.

CONTRIBUTION OF CHROMOTHERAPY IN IRIS REFLEXOLOGY

This new therapeutic method can be used in the vast domain of general medicine, but we are about to describe some specific clinical cases:

a) Pain

The first preliminary study having allowed the Iris Signal to be discovered; states of pain have been shown to be very sensitive to the application of coloured lights. From the first session, one notes a diminuation in intensity of more than 50%, and the fifth session is in general almost superfluous.

The results are lasting and the method seems to break chronic states. The examples are numerous and varied but we will cite in particular:

– Acute crisis of lumbago

– Cervico-brachial neuralgia

– Spasms of pain caused by colitis

– Facial neuralgia

– Cephalic pain (les cephalees)

b) Vertebral Blockages

Already cited in connection with states of pain, they retain all our attention by their extremely rapid response. An acute vertebral blockage without a slipped disc, can be treated in practically a single session. The patient feels first of all a sensation of warmth in the damaged area, with progressive “dissolving of pain”. The phenomenon is always perceived in a “magic” way because the luminous fasciculae traverse the iris, a method very far from manual methods aiming to unblock, in a purely physical way, a so-called vertebral obstacle!

It sometimes makes sense to associate an application of light with an auriculartherapy point, particularly in the case of vertebral blockages aggravated by a psychogenic component.

c) Allergies

I will now call to mind the important .results obtained in the case of children suffering from asthmatic type bronchitis. From the third ses-

sion onward, one notes a lessening in the production of catarrh and one can estimate an improvement of about 50% at the end of the fifth session. It is equally possible to improve ill-defined allergic states which show themselves in oedemas of the face happening at certain times of the day. Let us note that in these cases there is always a positive Iris Signal in the zones of the iris corresponding to:

– the neuro-vegetative system

– the renal system

– the lymphatic system

* thyroid = 20% of cases

* parathyroid = 60% of cases

* adrenals = 20% of cases

Applying coloured fasciculae to certain acupuncture points sometimes permits a speedier dispersal of the oedema and above all relieves the accompanying irritation often found in chronic states.

The method allows a new approach to the processus qualified as allergic, and importantly, allows patients to have relief who have not had really positive tests for allergies, and whose remedy has been prescriptions for tranquillizers as the only life-belt.

d) Circulatory troubles, obesity, metabolic disturbances.

I advise the associations of several reflex zones and would cite as an example: EAR-FOOT. This association allows a more concentrated action on the VIBRATORY LIGHT BODY and allows a speedier modification of the metabolism. The technique would be the one to choose when treating childhood obesity and bulimia accompanying tobacco restriction. Iris Chromotherapy must be closely linked to the other somatopies and one foresees the notion of the GLOBAL-MEDICINE of the being. It is equally important to point out that the identification of the IRIS SIGNAL has permitted the modification of certain locations of the iris, and the confirmation of others. Nowadays, a complete knowledge of the cartographies is no longer necessary, because the priority is the search for the two fundamental signs associated with the VIBRATORY LIGHT BODY.

– IRIS SIGN

– CONTROLATERAL PUPILLARY SIGN

e) Nervous Depression

The responses are very diverse, in accordance with differences both in origin, and in different constitutions. The results are very eloquent if one considers that more than 60% of those concerned find a significant improvement after the fifth session, and more than 70% take up their normal daily life again if one adds several sessions of coloured applications to certain acupuncture points ( found by Chinese Pulsology).

The zones of the iris recognised after investigations are:

– ortho and para-sympathetic systems

– thyroid

– hypothalamus

– kidney

– pancreas

– epiphysis

CONCLUSION

From diagnostic iridology to irido medicine, -how many years of research doubts and criticisms? This book pays homage to those who throughout the centuries have methodically scrutinized the modifications appearing on the surface of the iris.

Iridology alone, without the benefit of therapeutic actions, today finds its real place in medicine. Let us note, however, that it becomes necessary to widen the concept, in order to speak of diagnostic and therapeutic reflexology. The human body is supplied with many sensitive zones, intimately linked with the Vibratory Light Body. All these zones are gates of entry to coloured fasciculae and permit a measured application of light.

Chromotherapy is the use of vibratory phenomena, associated with coloured fasciculae: the vibrations are constituent elements of the edifice of life. We must become interpreters able to decode the messages written at the heart itself of these vibrating structures, and this must be not only at the physical and physiological levels, but also at the metaphysical.

From now on we know how to use al! the bodily somatopies and we are capable of sending therapeutic messages; this represents a considerable evolution in the approach to a sickness-sick person. The different battles over the somatopic positions will now be settled, since it is more important to know the Iris Signal or the Controlateral Pupillary Sign, rather than the organic location itself. The most important is to send a regulatory message by the intermediary of the reflex zone, which becomes the means of access to the Vibratory Light Body.

Iridology at last finds its place as an entry into the medicine of vibrations leaving its more or less chaotic place among the theories of naturopaths and hypotheses on the constitution. At the point of the 21 st century medicine is vibratory, undulatory!

All the paths to research are open, and I hope that the reflexo-thera-pies will give birth to a new generation of practitioners… jugglers of vibrations…!

THE AUTHOR

Dr, Pierre Fragnay, who was born at Lyons on the sixth of July 1948, was interested from his early youth in mathematics.

His first experience of university was in the Faculty of Sciences which led him towards the physical study of optics and the study of vibratory phenomena.

Inspired with a passion for medicine, P. Fragnay very early interested himself in the study of energy and presented his first Rhone Alps thesis on acupuncture applied in the Medicine of Sport. (Acupuncture: Myth or Reality, September 1976)

His first encounter with iridology was with Gaston Verdier a naturopath and health practitioner. Very soon P Fragnay opened his first general medical practice at Caluire sur Rhone, dedicating himself full time to iridology, homeopathy, acupuncture, and auriculo-medicine. From 1976 to 1991 his research work has allowed him to inspect more than 50 000 pairs of eyes in order to verify the exactness of the VEGA map ( or map of Gaston Verdier) nevertheless bringing to it some fundamental modifications.

Dr Fragnay set up in 1978 the Centre Rhodanien d’lrido-Diagnostique (C. R. I. D.) the aim of which is to research and promote the spread of Iridology while ensuring initiation into Energetic Medicine. Having become the president of C.R.l.D.P. Fragnay has never ceased augmenting the number of meetings with his medical colleagues and world nonmedical professionals. Today he has recently founded the International School of Chromo-Reflexology.

APPENDIX ONE

APPLICATION OF ANCIENT CHINESE LAWS TO DETERMINE THE COLOURS NECESSARY TO BE APPLIED TO THE BODY TO HARMONIZE ITS ENERGIES.

1) With regard to the law of the 5 elements. One could speak of a law of evolution when the different energies are in equilibrium and with the same intensity. On the other hand one speaks of inhibition or involution as soon as there is a diminution of energy activity.

This evolutionary system – inhibition permitting energetic auto-regulation, limiting excesses of production, thus avoids anarchy.

The 5 elements of energy represent all natural and human cycles. You could say that the human being has 5 organic functions and 5 psychological elements. The functions are defined as muscular, blood flow, venous and lymphatic, vegetative, bony. The psychological elements can be expressed as creativity, conviviality, lucidity and sensitivity.

When the human being is in equilibrium his cycle of life is consequently also in equilibrium

From the moment there is disorder, we speak of the law of destruction. In fact it is a case of acceleration of the laws of inhibition. An evolutionary law can thus become an agent of destruction.

In China the cycle of evolution starts in the Spring and the evolution takes place via the different stages of Summer, End of Summer, Autumn and Winter. The elements Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water correspond to these different seasons. Let us imagine an auto-regulating cycle which avoids overproduction, a cycle of inhibition responsible for a possible rejuvenation.

The different seasons then have a new cycle of succession, which can be described as follows: Spring-End of Summer-Winter-Summer-Autumn.

If this seems strange, let us try to replace the seasons by their corresponding elements and we will discover the following: Wood-Earth-Water-

Fire-Metal,

Let us consider that if our planet produces too much Wood, it will suffocate the Earth, which will no longer be able to breathe. -Earth in excess will suck up all the Water. Overproduction of Water will put out Fire. In its turn, too powerful Fire will melt Metal, which can cut Wood.

Thus we understand the principle of anarchy or equilibrium with reference to the functioning of our universe. If we continue with Chinese symbolism, we associate with Wood, the liver and the biliary function, with Fire, the small intestine and capillaries, with Earth, the stomach and spleen, with Metal, the lungs and large intestine, and with Water the kidneys and bladder.

The different pathologies can develop insufficiencies or excesses according to the cycles of acceleration or inhibition. Let us continue our investigations into the world of Ancient China to discover the colour associations:

Wood – Green

Fire – Red

Earth – Yellow

Metal – Blue

Water – Black

If we associate the different elements with physiological functions we find:

Wood – Muscular and hepatic systems

Fire – Circulatory system

Earth – Nerves and connective tissue

Metal – Venous and lymphatic systems

Water – Bony system

The different associated energies are: Gall bladder (Yang) and Liver (Yin) Small intestine (Yang) and Heart (Yin Stomach (Yang) and Spleen Yin) Large intestine (Yang) and Lung (Yin) Bladder (Yang) and Kidneys (Yin).

This classical plan has permitted the first rules of chromotherapy to

be posited albeit misleading because they are incomplete. We must understand our universe in depth to find the correct solutions.

2) On the law of the 6 energies

Starting from the acupuncture meridians which permit correct distribution of the energies, different climates are produced similar to those of our universe which reflect our 3 great equilibria.

From Pressure to Depression we must trust in the barometric scale

From Warmth to Cold we will study Calorimetry

From Humidity to Drought we must study the Hygrometric scale

If the law of the 5 elements directs our physiological states the law of the 6 energies modulates our psychological variations.

From this study is born the Psychological colours such as:

Violet for depression associated with the gall bladder

Orange for cold associated with the bladder and with the heart Indigo for Drought associated with the stomach and lungs Yellow for Pressure associated with the Liver

Red for Heat associated with the Small intestine and the Kidneys Green for Humidity associated with the Spleen and Large Intestine

3) How to Personalize the Therapies

For centuries different combinations have been looked for in order to give colour treatments and to put the energies into equilibrium. Starting from the year, month and day of one’s birth, it is possible to study a kind of biorhythm of energy in association with the 5 elements and the 6 energies. However to perfect the study and above all in order to calculate absolutely correctly the organic aspect in relation to energy movements, we find the study of the different constituents of the iris enormously helpful.

The biorhythms will be composed from the study of the physical field, the climate and the psychology: from the synthesis of the psychosomatic or somato-psychic studies. What results is the possibility of direct application of colours to the skin of the individual on the correct meridians and reflex zones

The application of the various colours by means of clays and essential oils will reawaken the cells by vibratory flux in tune with the universal laws.

The body, surrounded by these active principles behaves like a prism and chooses the curative vibrations.

Iridology a diagnostic science, has really today become a branch of Medicine which measures causes and distributes effects. The Ancient Chinese Laws, complemented by the knowledge of the constituents of the iris allow us in a few seconds to know the therapy we need to apply to the body. From Peczely to the internet we have never left the world of vibrations!

APPENDIX TWO

THE CHAKRAS, THE GOVERNORS OF VIBRATIONS IN OUR BODY.

Our body functions thanks to the energy it receives in relation to the varied plexus and the universe. All different cosmic vibrations penetrate at the level of our organic plexus in the areas we call the chakras; these areas are capable of identifying the vibrations and of putting them into circulation. This vibratory circulation or Kundalini represents a flow of white, cosmic light which is capable of balancing our physical, and equally, our spiritual body.

The seven chakras of our body represent the seven coloured elements of the spectrum of the white light; in other words the human body behaves like a prism capable of separating the different light vibrations.

All vibrational light changes will modify the energy of our plexus and in this physiological way an illness will be able to develop. It is necessary to understand the nature of our chakras in order to avoid our pathologies developing or to reduce the complications of our morbid cycles.

There exists a biorhythm in the chakras which allows us to measure, at each moment, the vibrational state of the human being forty nine biorhythms which are all keeping time! The study of the different colours of the chakras and their changes bear witness to pathological possibilities and of the feasibility of correction.

The chakras vibrate in a rotational direction, clockwise or anti clockwise. On the front side of the body a chakra turns in the clockwise direction whereas at the back of the body the chakra turns in an anticlockwise direction. This idea allows us to consider massaging the plexus of our body in a certain way turning clockwise or anticlockwise according to the side of the body under consideration.

An understanding of the exact biorhythm allows us to tre*i-#>e impaired vibration by applying a therapeutic colour on the part of our body which is impaired, while massaging the chakra.

Let us take the example of the first chakra which corresponds to the two lower limbs and the pelvic area of our body. The colour of this chakra is red; if the biorhythm is measured and shows that the person vibrates at this period of time to the colour blue, it would be necessary to apply the colour blue to this area whilst massaging the front part of the body in a clockwise direction and the back area in an anti clockwise direction. In general the changes go in pairs, effecting two chakras at the same time (two chakras have the same colour); this means that we will apply the colour blue to the two chakras whilst massaging.

This chromatic massage in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction is sufficient to clear the vibrational blockages which are sometimes responsible for serious illnesses. We must learn to know ourselves in order to look after ourselves better but also to avoid the serious changes in our spiritual imbalances linked to the disturbances in the flow of light at the very centre of our being.

It is by studying the numerology of first name, surname and date of birth that it is possible to establish a map of our biorhythms – this is a personalized calculation which allows us very quickly to understand the chakras which are out of order

Iridology which is master of organic and energetic diagnosis, can help make use of the study of the chakras in order to resolve a deep disturbance and it allows us above all to estimate the damage at the vibrational spiritual level. Science will only be able to understand the intimate workings of human nature by accepting and taking into consideration divine nature.
